Future Trips

Here we list trips scheduled by the Desert Explorers for the near and distant future. Also listed are some trips that are organized and led by our members but which do not require membership in the Mojave River Valley Museum (MRVM) and are, therefore, not MRVM-sponsored Desert Explorer trips.

Some trips, such as those involving stays at private residences or visits to obscure rock art sites, are posted only in the Desert Explorers' Newsletter. Conversely, some impromptu trips will be posted here and not in the Newsletter.

All trip participants will be required to sign our waiver.

Further Exploration of the Antonio Armijo Route of the Old Spanish Trail

Sunday, April 5, 2020

Leader: Nelson Miller

We will depart from the Rondy at 8:30 a.m. to further explore the possible route of Antonio Armijo, the Mexican trader who established the Old Spanish Trail from Santa Fe, NM to the San Gabriel Mission in the Los Angeles, CA area. We will proceed from Stump Spring and then westward toward Emigrant Pass and on to Tecopa, the Western Talc Mine, down Sperry Wash partially along the route of the T&T Railroad to Dumont Dunes and end at Salt Springs.

Please email NEMiller47@yahoo. com if you think you are coming so I have an idea of how many vehicles, but this is not mandatory.
